SHORT TAKES ON THE DRIFTING WRECKAGE – AT 11:55 P.M. ET:

OUT WITHOUT HONOR – FROM DAILYWIRE.COM:  After months of silence, we have finally learned the fate of the West Point graduate who infamously declared "Communism Will Win" and decried Defense Sec. James Mattis as "the most vile, evil f**k in the current administration." Former U.S. Army Infantry Officer Spenser Rapone has been "other than honorably" discharged.  The news of Rapone's discharge came via the announcement that he would be one of the speakers at the Socialism 2018 conference in Chicago in July.  Good riddance.  His behavior, and participation in politics, violated his oath, and a number of regulations.  He has no place in the Army.  The issue is how he ever got a commission in the first place.

PLEASE, PLEASE GO AWAY – FROM FOX:    Blame it on the bullies?  In a surprise appearance Friday, Hillary Clinton delivered a commencement address to graduates of San Francisco's exclusive Hamlin School.  Media reports said Secret Service personnel whisked the former Democratic presidential nominee and U.S. secretary of state into the all-girls private school -- where tuition is $34,500 per year.  "Tuition includes lunch and snack," the school's website says.  Once inside, Clinton spoke about her own experiences being bullied while growing up in suburban Chicago, as well as the need to be “courageous in a world dominated mainly by men,” graduate Alexa Tabibian told San Francisco's KGO-TV. The event was closed to the media.  “I never thought I’d ever get to see her in person and it was just so great,” Tabibian said.  As Clinton recalled of her youth, in a YouTube video posted by the school: "As I would go out looking to play, the kids who were already there would circle around me, bully me, knock me to the ground, and I would get up and run crying into the house. This went on for weeks. It was a pattern of our lives."  I wonder if it was anything like the time she was under fire in Yugoslavia, or someplace, or the time she tried to enlist in the Marine Corps, or somethin'.  Please take this woman to a movie.

BANISHED, AS IN THE GOOD OLD USSR – FROM CAMPUS REFORM:  The Harvard University Medical School has removed portraits of former department chairs from a lecture hall because the individuals pictured are not sufficiently diverse.  School officials confirmed Friday afternoon that the portraits of 31 medical school deans—which formerly hung in the school’s Bornstein Family Amphitheater—have been “dispersed” to various lobbies and conference rooms.  All 31 individuals depicted in the portraits are men, and while one is Chinese, the other 30 are also white.  Dr. Betsy Nabel, the hospital’s president, told The Boston Globe last week that the portraits do not reflect the diversity of students at the medical school, and suggested that so many portraits of white males may make medical students uncomfortable.  “I have watched the faces of individuals as they have come into Bornstein,’’ Nabel explained. “I have watched them look at the walls. I read on their faces ‘Interesting, but I am not represented here.’ That got me thinking maybe it’s time that we think about respecting our past in a different way.”   I really think people are getting tired of this Soviet-style stuff.  By all means honor people of different backgrounds, but don't start taking down the portraits of deserving men.
